Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe are:
- 1 pack of gingerbread cookie mixture
- 1 egg
- half a cup of flour
- half a cup of butter
- and 1 tablespoon of water
Once you have the ingredients we’ll go through the process of making them:
Firstly you’ll start by taking your pack of gingerbread cookie mixture and placing it in a bowl.
Next you’ll want to add the egg, flour, butter and water and mix them together well.
Cover the bowl with cellophane and leave in the fridge for 15 – 20 minutes.
After the 15 – 20 minutes in the fridge, take out and knead the dough together with your palms.
Sprinkle your work surface with flour, place the ball of dough onto the surface and flatten out with your hand, sprinkle the ball of dough with flour to ensure it doesn’t stick anywhere.
Now using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to be about half an inch in thickness.
Next, using a star shaped cookie cutter, cut out as many cookies as you can. Place the cut outs on a greased cookie sheet in a baking tray and repeat the process of flattening out the dough until all is used.
Once all of the dough has been used and your cookies are on the baking tray place in your oven and bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees.
To add a little extra to them once cooked and cooled down, sprinkle with caster sugar or decorate with icing.
